Learning to swim or improving swimming skills starts with connecting with an instructor.
It doesn’t matter how years of experience, how many thousands of lessons, or certifications… if the instructor doesn’t fit the swimmer, it doesn’t work.
Effective swim lessons are built on progression. Moving from simple skills to more complex. Teaching must be planned out with specific goals in mind to help the swimmer learn and grow.
It all comes down to the relationship.
My name is Nick. I have been a competitive swimmer on and off since 1997. I’ve swam for more than a dozen coaches as a youth, collegiate and masters swimmer. If there was one thing I would have to say that influences my performance is the relationship I had with the coaches I was working with.
I’ve taken that principle and applied it to my own teaching and coaching. I am here for the athlete in whatever capacity they need. From disciplinarian to guide and everything in between.
Teaching individuals to be comfortable and safe in and around the water requires an adaptable and knowledgeable instructor.
